The Aussie PC Fix budget computers are perfect if you need a basic desktop computer for activities like browsing the Internet, email, word processing and casual gaming. The budget computer range brings the lowest possible price for new PC that still meet our standards for performance and quality, to give our customers a decent user experience.

AMD gives the lowest cost configuration with the Sempron & Athlon processors, which require an AMD AM3 motherboard. All new computers sold by Aussie PC Fix include at least a dual-core processor - this means they have 2 processors to handle workloads (except Semprons. Intel Celerons are now also dual core).

Recommended motherboards are from Gigabyte and Asus for the AMD and Intel platforms, and although you could go with cheaper motherboards the configurations below are what we would recommend as a minimum specification.

The motherboards include onboard video/graphics so no dedicated video card is needed, but can be upgraded with a PCI-E graphics card in the future if required.

Also included is 1GB RAM/memory and huge 500GB hard drive to store your data, but these are easily upgraded if required - just as any other part can be customised to build your ideal computer. Serial and parallel legacy ports can also be added to most computers if required.

Our Canberra Computers come completely assembled and tested with one year warranty, all inside a standard midi-tower case with DVD burner. All computer cases come with front headphone/microphone ports and 2 front USB ports. Most Micro-ATX motherboards below also include 4 USB ports at the rear, but there may be more depending on the model of motherboard.

After you have chosen your computer configuration from the categories above, along with any upgrades, all you need to do to make a complete computer system is to choose which version of Windows that you would like to use, as well as a screen/monitor for viewing if you need a new one or would like to upgrade to a larger widescreen LCD.

Many users still prefer to use Windows XP, which we still have available until stocks run out. Otherwise you can choose from several editions of the new Windows 7.

All new computer screens are now LCD, with 22" & 24" now the best size for value for money - or choose a 19" if this is too large for your work area.
